I began my travel career as an Apprentice Travel Advisor for TUI in 2016. I studied Travel and Tourism in college 3 days a week whilst working as an apprentice 4 days a week. This is when I found my passion for the travel industry! Since then I have worked for Kuoni, Co-operative Travel and now Fred Olsen.
It may sound cheesy, but making peoples dreams come true! When my customers come back from their dream holiday and share their experiences, it can be very rewarding knowing I had a part to play in it all.
It's almost impossible to pick one, but I'd have to say the Maldives would be up there. I worked and lived out there for a couple of months and it has a very special place in my heart. The photos you see of the white sands and crystal clear water do not do the beautiful Maldivian islands justice. There is more to the Maldives than some realise; it has a wonderful culture with tasty, traditional dishes and kind, welcoming locals. If you can visit the Maldives, then you absolutely must.
I would love my next trip to be New York City! Many of my favourite TV programmes and films have been shot in 'The Big Apple' and I would love to experience it for myself. From an early morning stroll through Central Park, to the nightime buzz of Times Square, the action packed city has plenty to offer and I hope to explore it soon.
My dream holiday is to visit the Amazon Rainforest in South America. There isn't anywhere on earth quite like it. One in ten known species in the world can be found in the Amazon; from jaguars, sloths and monkeys to pink dolphins and brightly coloured birds, the depth of it is simply mind blowing! I would love to hop on a boat to one of the Amazon's remote areas and stay in beautiful isolated eco-reserve deep in the jungle.
I once booked two friends on a rail trip through Italy. We tailor-made it so they stopped off in Venice,Florence and Rome. They travelled on first class rail and had central hotels in each of their stops. Everything ran lovely and smooth and they had a wonderful time soaking up the Italian culture. Italian food is my favourite, so I would love to wine and dine in each of these cities!
My first ever family holiday was to the Canary Island of Fuerteventura. I will never forget my first experience on a plane and the excitement pumping through me as the plane took off. Then we landed and the door opened - the Spanish summer heat hit me for the first time and it was the perfect family holiday. We visited waterparks during the days and enjoyed wonderful Spanish food in the evenings.
1) My top tip is to roll your clothes rather than fold them when packing! This way you squeeze much more in and they won't be creased when you want to wear them.
2) Ask the locals! Rather than eating at the busiest looking restaurants or adding onto the most popular city tour, see what the locals suggest. They may recommend a tasty local restaurant or suggest a cheaper way of sightseeing, this could save you money and open your eyes to the true culture which you may have missed before.
3) Separate your sources of money when you travel. I'll usually keep a small amount of cash on me and keep my card in a separate bag. It's good to be cautious.
