Lucy Austin

Travel Consultant

When did you start working in the travel industry?

I started working in travel in 2024. I've spent many years travelling and decided it was time to make the move to a job that I feel so passionate about.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

Meeting new people and spending all day looking at holiday destinations.

Where would you like to visit next?

I'm going to do a solo trip to Bosnia this year. I've always been fascinated by the history and it's a beautiful country.

What is your dream holiday destination?

I have a trip in the planning stages to travel across Central America all the way from Belize to Panama. I love to experience different cultures that are a bit off the beaten track.

What has been your favourite holiday, which you have booked for a customer, that you would love to take yourself?

I booked a tour for a customer to Memphis, Nashville and New Orleans by train and paddle steamer that I'd love to do myself.

What were your childhood holidays like?

Greece and camping all over the UK and Europe. Being outdoors and active is still my favourite type of holiday.

What are the first three things in your case?

A book, my favourite sunglasses and my favourite tea bags.

Cruise
Tips

  1. Take a bridge tour if it's available. It's interesting to see just how much technology goes in to sailing the ship.
  2. Try out at least one speciality dining restaurant. The food is usually better quality than you'd find in a city restaurant and at a fraction of the cost.
  3. Try to join in as many activities on the ship as you can. It's great to try new things and meet new people.

My Favourite Memory

Anywhere in South East Asia. It's so friendly and easy to travel around without too much planning. I always meet new people from all over the world. The food is amazing and it's always hot!
