She Saw Seashells On the Seychelles Shore

Nicola Atkinson, Manager of our Ipswich travel agents, spent five nights strolling along the beaches of the Seychelles. Here are the highlights from her trip...

Destination: Seychelles
Operator/Host: Beachcomber
Accommodation
(Hotel names/Ship name):
Sainte Anne Resort & Spa
Airline: Emirates
Duration: 5 Nights

Flights

Our outbound flights from Heathrow to Dubai and from Dubai to the Seychelles were both in Business Class.

The first leg of our journey, with Emirates Air, was amazing as we had access to the Sky Bar at the back of the plane and a three-course lunch which included a selection from the wine menu. The seats also transform into a flat bed at the touch of a button, and the staff will even bring you a mattress if you need one. The First & Business class areas take up the entire upstairs section of the plane.

The second part of the outbound journey, from Dubai to the Seychelles, was not as good as the first, but there was still a lot of room. The beds were not flat on this flight, but you could still stretch out quite a bit. We had breakfast served on board which was Okay!

The journey home was taken in economy class but was still fine. It is always worth trying to arrange flights on the A380, as this offers more room than the other alternatives.

Accommodation

The transfer from the airport in Mahe to our private island was taken by boat and was only about a ten-minute journey. The Sainte Anne Resort was fantastic and very quiet. It would be great for older couples, people on their honeymoon and anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. The accommodation is all villas and each one has its own bikes which you can use to get around the island and explore as much as possible.

The spa side of the resort is also great and there was a fantastic choice of restaurants; each serving a very high standard of food.

Excursions

We took part in many activities whilst we were on the trip including: a treasure hunt on the main island of Mahe, seeing how the Sainte Anne cater for wedding parties, a catamaran boat trip, a day trip to Praslin (Famed for exotic Coco de Mer), a helicopter trip over Seychelles, various spa treatments and a magnificent gala dinner.

Trip Highlights

I have to say that I loved every minute of my time in the Seychelles. However, the helicopter trip was fantastic, as was the lobster lunch at Anse Lazio Beach.

Possible Improvements

Nothing. The trip was fantastically well organised.

Recommendations

I would recommend the Seychelles to anyone who wants to get married somewhere exotic as the wedding service we were allowed to sit in on was fantastic. I would also recommend this trip to honeymooners and people who want to just get away to relax. The hotel & services are of 5* quality; I had an amazing time and so can easily recommend it.

Must see? Anse Lazio beach
Must do? Helicopter tour
Must try? Some of the local fresh fish
